The United States is one of the most beautiful, and advanced countries in the world. Naturally, in order to live and work permanently in the United States, you will need a U.S. Green Card. Because of the ever-so-increasing number of people vouching to get the U.S. Green Card, it has become very tough for you to find an opportunity to do so. However, we know 5 easy ways to get a US Green Card. Here are all of them:

1.  Family-based Green Card

The fastest and easiest way to get a Green Card is through family member. If one of the following people are already citizens of the United States, you can easily get a US Green Card: unmarried child (under 21), unmarried foster-child (under 21), foster-child (under 18), parent/stepparent, married child, and brother/sister.

Additionally, you can also get a green card if you are a relative of the following people who already have a Green Card: spouse, unmarried children, adopted child (under the age of 18) and unmarried stepchild (under the age of 21).

2.  Employment-based Green Card

Another sure-fire way in our ways to get a US Green Card guide is to get a green card through employment. If your company has an office in the United States, and claims that you fall under the following criteria, you can easily get a Green Card:

  • Extraordinary CV and ability, outstanding track-record as a scholar, or manager (or higher ranked) in multinational companies.
  • Professional with an advanced degree.
  • Exceptional ability or advanced degrees with involvement in activities that benefit the US national interest.
  • Professional with a Bachelor’s degree from the US, skilled/unskilled workers, nurses and therapists.

3.  Green Card Lottery

The easiest, but most unlikely way to get a US Green Card is through the Green Card Lottery. The US Department of State conducts a lottery on a regular basis, and after you have registered in the lot, you can get selected in the lottery on random. In order to apply though, you need to from one of the eligible countries all around the globe. There are no fees though, so you can apply without any restrictions.

The process is all online, but you can only apply in the months of October and November. Do note that the lottery might get affected by the recent pandemic. Do note that it still takes 2 years after you have been selected to finally get eligible to enter the country. You will still have to pass an interview – which costs 330 USD per person.

After passing everything, you will get a 6 months visa to enter the US and find a job/fiancé for permanent residence or you will be kicked out.

4.  Invest in the US Economy

Foreign investors who invest more than a specific amount to the US economy automatically get a Green Card mailed to their address. The current laws dictate that foreign entrepreneurs who have invested $500,000 and provided at least 5 full-time jobs in the United States will get the right to get a Green Card for free. Alternatively, if you can invest $1,000,000 in an enterprise that benefits the US economy and are able to provide 10 full-time jobs to US residents, you will find a Green Card waiting for you as well.

Do note that even though this is one of the sure-fire ways to get a US Green Card, it costs an insane amount of money for an average person. If you are a businessman who is looking to do business in the States though, this is a nice opportunity to steal yourself a free pass.

A person who files a VAWA self-petition is generally known as a VAWA self-petitioner. If your self-petition is approved and you meet other eligibility requirements, you may be eligible to apply to become a lawful permanent resident.

5.  Be One of the Special Immigrants

Special immigrants, such as religious workers, foreign medical graduates and former US residents who have left the country for more than 12 months are able to get a Green Card without much issues too.

If you are a religious worker, and wish to be greenlit, you will need authorization by recognized religious organizations. Your immediate family members will also be able to get residence inside the United States with your Green Card. You may want to contact your instructor, counsellor, catechist, or immediate senior worker for more information on how to apply for a green card.
