  • Passport (original and Copy).

In what cases additional documents are required:

  • If you are traveling with a child under the age of 14, the list of required documents includes the child’s birth certificate;

 Please note that from the moment you have been issued a visa, the visa becomes valid. The period during which the visa is valid does not start from the day you cross the border of the country, but from the moment you receive the visa.

Types of Visa

  • Tourist;
    For foreigners whose purpose of travel is tourism, short term medical treatment or visiting Indian friends/relatives. This type of visa may allow one, two or more entries into the country.
  • Business;
    It means that the reason for visiting is a business visit. An invitation from the host (business partners) is required.
  • Urgent Visa
    An urgent Indian visa that can be approved in a day or fewer for unforeseen circumstances that could not be anticipated in advance. For example, a close relative’s death, medical reasons, or even legal concerns may need your presence in India.
  • Visa for the period of study;
    A visa is issued for the period of study in one of the institutions officially registered in India. It can be:

    • Universities;
    • Institutions where yoga, Vedic culture, Indian history, philosophy, music, painting, etc. are studied.

To obtain a student visa, you will need documents confirming enrollment in an educational institution and an invitation from this institution.

  • Transit;
    This is a visa for passengers who are not going to travel around the country, but make a transfer on its territory in order to go to a third country. Transit Indian visa is valid for 15 days.

     What else you need to know about the conditions of entry to India? If you plan to spend more than six months in India, you must register within 2 weeks after arrival at the Foreign Citizens Registration Service or the police station. In the same institutions, if necessary, you can extend your visa – for this you need to have a certificate of negative HIV test results with you. This certificate is also required if your stay in India is longer than a year.
