Visas, passport, entry formalities… Here are some tips to help you prepare for your trip about travel to France.
The health pass is now compulsory for all domestic flights in France.
During the coronavirus health crisis, please be aware of the travel restrictions which require additional formalities before your departure and travel to France.
Before your departure, we invite you to check the entry and stay formalities with the embassy and consulate of your country / countries of destination or correspondence. You must be in possession of the required documents:
ID card,
passport,
Visa…
It is your responsibility to check their validity date and to renew them if necessary (taking care of the sometimes long delays in obtaining them). Otherwise, you will have to pay any fees or fines imposed on Air France by the authorities.
Please note: some countries require a passport valid for several months after the expected return date. In addition, a return or onward travel ticket may also be requested.

MINOR TRAVELERS
Whether your child is traveling alone or with you, we recommend that you check the entry and stay formalities for minors with the embassy or consulate of the country of destination or correspondence.
Note: if you are traveling with your child but he does not have the same name as you, bring the family record book or a birth certificate extract proving your parentage.
AUTHORIZATION TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY FOR MINORS UNDER THE AGE OF 18
The authorization to leave the territory is compulsory for any minor, French or foreign resident in France, traveling outside France unaccompanied by a person with parental authority.
Depending on the country of destination, the child must be in possession of:
– his identity card or his own passport (accompanied by a visa if necessary),
– the authorization to leave the territory signed by one of the holders of parental authority,
– a photocopy of a valid identity document of the person signing the authorization to leave the territory.

FRENCH NATIONALS WHO ARE MINORS
Any minor French traveler must be in possession of an identity document (passport or national identity card depending on the destination). This identity document must be in his name. A child cannot appear on the passport of one of his parents.
Please note: the family record book is not an identity document. It therefore does not allow minor travelers to fly, even on flights in mainland France.
EUROPEAN MINORITIES
For trips to or within Europe, any minor European national * must be in possession of a personal identity document (passport or national identity card depending on the destination). If these trips require a passport, the minor must therefore have their own passport. It cannot appear on that of one of its parents.
* The obligation for minors to have an individual identity document concerns all European nationals, with the exception of nationals of the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark.
MINORS TRAVELING FROM OR TO SOUTH AFRICA
Any minor traveling from or to South Africa must be in possession of the official documents required by the South African authorities.
This rule applies whether the minor is traveling alone or whether he is accompanied by both parents, only one of them or by another person.
